What are the calibration steps for a weighing sensor?

The core steps of weighing sensor calibration include preheating, zero-point calibration, range calibration, multi-point verification, and angle difference correction to ensure that the system output is highly consistent with the actual weight.

 

Preparation before calibration

Environmental check: Place the equipment on a hard, flat, and level surface, avoiding vibration, strong electromagnetic interference, and airflow.

Power-on preheating: Turn on the power and preheat for 15–30 minutes to allow the sensor and instrument circuit to reach a thermally stable state.

Cleaning and inspection: Ensure the weighing platform is free of debris, the sensor connection is secure, the cables are undamaged, and the wiring is correct (excitation, signal, and shielding wires).

 

Zero-point calibration (no-load calibration): With no load, enter the instrument's "zero-point calibration" or "Zero" mode.

After confirming the display is stable, press the confirmation button. The system will set the current signal as the "zero" reference point.

If tare weight exists, perform a tare operation before performing zero-point calibration.

 

Range Calibration (Full-Scale Calibration)

Select Standard Weight: Use a standard weight of known precise weight (recommended to be 50%–100% of the range) and place it stably in the center of the weighing platform.

Enter Actual Weight Value: Enter "Range Calibration" or "Span" mode, enter the actual weight of the added weight, and the system will automatically calculate the proportional coefficient after confirmation.

Complete Calibration: Remove the weight and check if it has returned to zero; reload and confirm that the displayed value matches the weight of the weight.
